MR. JOHN E. “BEAR” MOSELEY, CG AVIATOR 743, IS CITED FOR AND RECOGNIZED FOR HIS SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE TO THE U.S. COAST GUARD BY PRESERVING CG AVIATION HISTORY OVER THE YEARS.  HIS ACTIONS IN RESEARCHING AND WRITING THE ‘CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY OF CG AVIATION’, CAPTURED SIGNIFICANT CG AVIATION EVENTS AND MILESTONES.  AS THE CG AVIATION ASSOCIATION (CGAA) HISTORIAN, MR. MOSELEY HELPED CREATE A UNIQUELY DESIGNED EXHIBIT – ‘OUT OF THE BLUE – COAST GUARD AVIATION’ – FOR THE ELIZABETH CITY, NC, MUSEUM OF THE ALBEMARLE, THAT TRACED NEARLY 100 YEARS OF CG AVIATION HISTORY.  HE WAS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE PLANNING, PROMOTION, AND EXECUTION OF EVENTS SURROUNDING THE 2016 CENTENNIAL OF CG AVIATION, AND ITS DOCUMENTATION IN THE PRODUCTION OF CGAA’S ‘A DECADE OF ACHIEVEMENT’, WHICH MORPHED INTO ‘AN ERA OF ACHIEVEMENT’ BROCHURE.  MR. MOSELEY HAS BEEN A CHAMPION OF ALL THINGS RELATED TO CG AVIATION HISTORY.  HIS EFFORTS WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN TRANSFORMING CGAA FROM AN AVIATION FRATERNITY INTO A HIGHLY TUNED AVIATION ORGANIZATION, WHICH RESPECTS ITS PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.
